Hardy Kiwi Vines in Ontario

Hello
I just received my hardy hairless kiwi vine from the nursery.
It came tied to a stake in the pot. Do I remove the stake when I plant it or leave it for support for a while??? When do I untie it so the plant doesn’t choke?
We have the same climate as Northern California.
Thanks

You can untie it at anytime. Just make sure to give it something to climb on as it ages. If properly pruned it can stand on its own. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/kiwi/growing-hardy-kiwi-vine.htm [1]
