Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI live on Long Island in New York and have a hardy hibiscus. It is not a tropical hibiscus. I cut it down to the ground in the fall. Last year I discovered something eating the green leaves, and this year it seems worse! I imagine they are spider mites, but how can I get rid of them? I’m afraid I won’t get any flowers this year because the leaves are disappearing. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Treat the plant with neem oil. It is very effective against pests like this and is safe for people and animals. This article has more information:
