Q.Growth In The Shallow Part Of My New Begonia Tuber

Zone Vancouver Washington 98685 | Anonymous added on June 14, 2022 | Answered

I just bought some begonia tubers. There is growth in the shallow side. Do I let that stick out of the ground when I plant the tuber?

It's fine - roots can sprout from all over the tuber. You can bury it or let it stick up out of the soil. Depends on how developed it is. If it's long enough to have formed a leaf, you may want to let that be above the soil line if you can still bury the tuber into around an inch of soil. Otherwise, it should be fine to cover it over.
