Growth and color of plant

Put this amaryllis bulb in a dark closet on Oct,2/17. Looked at it today and was surprised of its condition. Have not watered it yet. Why is it so white.Thanking you in advance

I would need a picture to see what you are talking about. Was it alive and growing green when you put it in the closet? It should only be put into the closet when it is dormant. If you can include a photo, then it would help me to help you better.
