Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI live on Long Island (Zone 7) and I really want to grow thyme. I’ve been trying for years and I can’t get it to grow inside or outside. I get the seeds to sprout but they never grow and die quickly. What am I doing wrong? How can I grow those tiny seeds?

Sounds like a damping off problem. This article should help you with that: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/seeds/what-is-damping-off.htm [1]
Also, it may help to water from below, not above, whenever possible. Water when the soil gets dry just on the top. You could set the seeding containers (with holes in the bottom) into a container with water as well. It will wick the water up as needed.
