growing roses from seed

My bush was old when I moved here in 1974. Do not know name or type. Red in color and not real full with many hips after blooming, one big bloom in spring early summer and then a constant small bloom until late fall. It was under a white pine until about 2010 and then tree pruned back and it came to life and grew to twice its size and many more flowers.

Would like to get starts to give kids who grew up here (3) so they could plant at their new homes. I have spent 10 min trying to send picture but cannot – it should be under my e bob2skoge@gmail.com Picasso 3 web album ,but they make it too hard for people like me.

Wonderful story on your rosebush Bob. Here is a link to an article for you on taking cuttings and starting new rosebushes from them. It can be a tough process, so take plenty of cuttings and be patient with them. Here is also an article on growing roses from seed. However the seeds will not give you exactly the same rose due to the pollen mixing by the bees. Link: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/roses/growing-roses-from-seed.htm [2]
