Q.growing red maple trees

Zone NJ 08853 | biagiocomo added on May 17, 2015 | Answered

I have a red maple in front of my house. On the lawn and in the mulch around the tree, there appear to be leaves, and many of them; however, when I knelt down to pick up these leaves, they were attached to the soil and when pulled up they have roots. Are these baby trees? If so, may I please have tips on how to grow them? Right now I have about 10 of these in a glass with water.
