Q.growing plants and shrubs

Zone missouri | lawnman added on May 4, 2015 | Answered

I have a rock planter with 2 inch white rock in it. Can I put plants and shrubs in a container and then put the container in the rock planter? I plan on taking the bottom of the containers off so the roots can grow.

I do think that you would be better off not removing the bottoms of pots. No matter the type of plant you choose, they eventually will outgrow a container and need repotting. If they have rooted into the rocks or bottom of another container, it would be difficult to move them.
You certainly can grow many types of plants and shrubs in containers.
