Growing Pineapple in a pot

My pineapple plant is a couple of years old. The tallest leaves are around 36″ high. When I picked up the pot to move it outdoors, the whole plant was very “wobbly.” Why has this happened after all this time and what can I do to fix it?

Thank you
Wallace

It is common for these plants to become top heavy and can even topple over.
A heavy clay pot is recommended to help counter balance the weight of the plant.
If the heavier pot is still not enough to help up your plant, you will need to stake the plant.
