Q.growing patio clematis
This is the 2nd year I have kept my patio clematis in a dark cold room over winter. I live in Alberta, Canada in zone 3. This year these plants have grown some white shoots about 16″ tall. We have had a very mild winter and my cold room ranged from about 4 deg C to 10 deg C. I don’t know if I should cut these off, or if the shoots are left on, will they turn green when I bring it back into light and warmer temps. If these are cut off, will the plants grow more shoots?
I would leave the new growth for now, you can always prune later if you feel the plant needs a clean up.
