Q.Growing mistletoe

Zone Chattanooga, Tennessee, 37407 | Daniel0430 added on November 30, 2017 | Answered

I know mistletoe can only be grown using trees because it is a parasite that lives off the nutrients of trees, but if I were to use a plant based food source such as maple syrup which is a natural sweetener made from tree sugars diluted to a 1/50 ratio to simulate a trees nutrients without a tree in pretty moss would it work or has it been tried yet?

You can grow these indoors, but it would be best to use a branch from any of the tree hosts that it prefers. This article will give you more information on how to do this: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/mistletoe/how-to-grow-mistletoe-plants.htm
