Growing Lemons from seeds

I’m working on a school project, and I could use a little advice. I started growing my Meyer lemons from seeds a little over a month ago. Do you have any tips? They are sprouting, but how long until I can expect lemons? I live in Michigan, so am I able to plant them outside even with the harsh winters, or should I just grow them indoors?

You should keep your Meyer lemon indoors for the winter in Michigan, but you can bring it outdoors in its container during the warm parts of the year, whenever there is no risk of frost. Luckily, Meyer lemons are one of the best citrus plants to grow in pots.

It takes 5 to 7 years for a Meyer lemon tree grown from seed to produce fruit. Trees can be purchased from online retailers or gardening stores that will produce fruit in 2-3 years or sooner.
