Q.Growing lemon tree from seed

Zone Southwestern Idaho | Tami added on April 24, 2016 | Answered

I am growing a lemon plant from lemon seeds I got out of a lemon from the store. I have no problem getting them to grow to about 2″ and then the tips of the leaves turn brown, and then when those leaves fall of the small stem, it does nothing else and dies. What am I doing wrong? They are in my kitchen window with morning sunlight. I tried cutting back on watering them because I read that too much water might cause this but I think that was mainly on large mature trees.

I would try starting the seeds in a smaller container.
This will help the seedling develop stronger roots and it is less likely to suffer from overwatering.
