growing hostas

Why are my hostas not getting bigger? They actually seem smaller this year compared to last year.

With the cold winter endured by most of the United States, plants and gardens do seem to be behind schedule for many gardeners.
Your smaller plants may simply need more time this spring.

Have you had adequate rainfall this spring?
Drier conditions also can slow the rate of growth. A fertilizer can be applied in spring to host.
