Q.Growing geraniums from seeds – pinching

Ivanageranium added on February 25, 2019 | Answered

Hello, please I need help. I have been growing geraniums for the last 3 years. But so far I have not tried to pinch out the tops (it is recommended to pinch off the tops ). I do not know exactly where to pinch my little plants. I am sending photos of my 2months old geraniums. Thank you very much.

These are quite young to be pinching. You will want to pinch off the VERY TOP and that is all, but you will want to wait until you see at least 6 to 8 nodes, or leaf pairs on each plant. Then, simply pinch the top. You don't even have to remove the top, as simply pinching will allow redistribution of auxins, while allowing the top to remain intact. This give you more branching, and less chance for infection.
