Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI took a few branches from a fruiting fig tree and want to get them to grow roots so I can plant them. Is keeping the branches in water sufficient or do I need to do anything more? I live in Boca Raton, FL. Can I plant the fig tree if we get that far here where it is warm year round?

These are not normally rooted in water. However, this article will provide information on propagating these trees: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/figs/fig-propagation.htm [1]
Yes, in your region the tree should do fine outdoors. Should you need protection for the tree over winter, this article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/figs/fig-cold-protection.htm [2]
