tick et , where as on the sungold cherry tomato ticket it tells me to remove the side shoots, I dont want to mess my chance of success up, please can you help?

When it doubt, leave it. Once the plant it mature, and in full flower, then you can remove any instances of new growth. Prune after the first harvest, lightly, then let new suckers take over.

During fruit set and late flowering, you don't want them sapping precious nutrients.
