Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comIs mid-July too late to plant about 3 fairly large beefsteak tomato plants? I have clay soil, so should I add some sort of growing soil to make it easier for the plants to grow? I’m an amateur gardener and need guidance.

Generally, the time for planting tomatoes is early spring, though in your area you may be able to grow a later crop. However, I would recommend amending you clay soil to better your chances of success.
