Q.Green Beans eaten off by groundhog

Zone Northwestern Illinois | Anonymous added on June 8, 2017 | Answered

All that’s left of most of my bean plants are a stalk with two stubs where the leaves were. Will they come back or do I need to replant?

It depends on how healthy they are, how mature they already were, and the growing conditions in your garden. You should replenish your plants with new seeds just in case (you can always freeze or give away extra fresh beans).

Regardless of whether all or only some come back, you definitely need to get control of whatever ate them (it could also be rabbits). These articles may help you:
