Grass weed

Question

I want to remove some particular areas where is excess of weed than grass,I read about your newspaper idea to remove the unwanted grass.Can you please tell me that how much time does this technique takes? and also the environmental conditions are a bit rainy. ANY SUGGESTIONS ??
