Grass Seeding

My home is built on two acres of land that used to be a cornfield. Two years ago when I built my home, I did not till under and level out the two acres as a lawn. I am now ready to attempt to do this. I live in southern Georgia and have been told that Centipede grass would grow very well in my area. My questions are: If I till under the weed and wild Bermuda grass combination that is currently growing in my yard and throw out Centipede grass seeds, will I have the Centipede lawn that I want, or will it be a mixture of wild Bermuda, Centipede, and weeds? Do I need to spray something to kill the currently growing weeds and wild Bermuda grass before I till it under? If so, what? Also, about how many pounds of Centipede seeds will it take to spread over two acres of land?

It will most likely be a mixture. It would be best to treat the area after tilling with Roundup 2-3 weeks before planting the seed. This article will help you with the amount you need:
