Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comWhat is the best grass to plant in shady areas? I live in north Texas and I have a lot of big trees in the front yard that keeps part of the yard in constant shade. These areas are made up of only dirt, despite the fact that there’s grass growing in the rest of the yard. I would like to know which grass to plant and in what time of the year?

For your area both spring and fall planting is acceptable; however, you might want to try fall planting since your summers may be prone to excessive heat. Here is an article or two that you may find helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/lawn-care/lgen/shade-tolerant-grass.htm [1]
