Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI bought a house in October and there are about 12-14 fruit trees in my yard. Some of the fruit is really big. But recently I noticed a lot of fruit and leaves falling off of my trees. Is there a certain time to pick the fruit? Prune trees, etc. ? The avocado trees are only about 3 months, and they are small. How many times a week should I water them and for how long?

If necessary, pruning may be done to maintain their shape and height. As for harvesting–Grapefruits are usually harvested in fall. Most lemon varieties have a long bearing period and can be harvested between August and February. Once the fruits have turned yellow or gold in color, they’re ready for picking. The longer the fruit remains on tree, however, the larger and sweeter it becomes. The most reliable method is the taste test. You can also squeeze the fruit with your hand: if it is really hard, it probably needs to stay on the tree longer.
Water avocados deeply once every 7-10 days.
