Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI am wondering why my grapevines did not produce fruit this year. We pruned the vines late last fall. The summer was very hot here, but we had sufficient rains and they are watered when there isn’t rain. But no fruit this fall.

Insufficient pruning (leading to too-dense foliage) or improper pruning can reduce fruit production, but it sounds like you have taken care of that. Diseases and pests can also cause flowers to drop due to stress:

Excessive nitrogen fertilization or insufficient phosphorus can inhibit flowering and fruit production in most plants:
