Q.Grandiflora Roses With Black Canes
I am a little worried about my “All Dressed Up” grandiflora rose. The canes are black and haven’t shown much life lately. Is it too early, or should I worry? There is tiny signs of life coming in at the base but not much. I have attached pictures for reference. Thanks in advance for your help!

That plant looks like it has seen some years! On average, you can get from 10 to 15 years out of one. This can be more or less, though. I think that it may have given its last bit of life. It doesn't seem like there is any life coming from the rose itself, but there is other plant growth and seedlings nearby. Keep pruning down until you find any green or living material inside. That will tell you if it is still alive. If you do happen to find any signs of life, then it may have a chance at another year or two. Unfortunately, you may be digging it out.
