GOLDFISH PLANT IS LIMP AND LOSING LEAVES

Help! My goldfish plant has started looking very weak lately. It’s losing it’s leaves and the tops of the branches are bent over and sagging. I did see some signs of mealy bugs, which I treated, but that doesn’t seem to have made a difference. I’ve also noticed that the leaves have brown spots on them before they fall off. I’ve had this plant for almost 20 years and I can’t bear to lose her now! Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Rhonda

Perhaps you've already done so, but it would be important to continue to inspect your goldfish plant's leaves very closely (maybe with a magnifying glass) to see if there is any lingering disease. Any leaves showing signs of mold or disease should be clipped off and discarded so they won't infect the rest of the plant. Another round of neem oil treatment might be in order after it's been trimmed. You may also want to note any change of environment that could have affected it. Has there been a change in watering? Improper watering is the reason most houseplants die. Also, since the plant is so long lived, have you occasionally replenished the soil? If not, water may be just passing through and not being absorbed by the plant.

Here's an article that may be of some help. [1]
Best of luck with this.
