golden pear tree

There are sprouts growing out of the bottom of the tree roots as well as lichen on the bark. I love this tree and do not want to harm its growth. Is it healthy and do I leave it or help it? Also, it is about ten years old. Thank you so much.

Go ahead and trim away the sucker branches as they appear on the tree.
Lichen on a tree generally does not harm.
