Q.Given My Area, Is There A Grass Seed I Can Use To Overseed (without Prior Tilling) That Will Eventually Take Over What Is Currently

there? The soil here is a sandy/clay mix. I don’t know what kind of grass is currently growing, probably just something native, along with different weeds (I don’t think anything was ever planted. The are I’m talking about is fairly large, probably 8 acres or more. I am from LA where St. Augustine in grown frequently, but I don’t think it will survive here. I would like something that will grow every year, without having to re-seed every year.

You are in zone 7a. Here are grass varieties for zones 7 to 10. Not sure how they will do without any prep but you can certainly try. I can tell you from experience that Bermudagrass is tough and once it's established is pretty hardy. It has creeping rhizomes. It's the bane of everyone who starts a garden and doesn't get all the Bermuda killed out.

It will go dormant in a drought, but comes back when moisture returns.
