Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI live in New Caledonia. For next Halloween, I’d like to have giant pumpkins from my garden (75 lbs or bigger). I’ll be in California, Nevada, Arizona for holidays from 8th of January to 16th of February.
I’d like to buy seeds. Could you tell me if I could find stores to buy some, please?
Best regards.
Christophe

Your best bet is to contact some of the giant pumpkin clubs. The giant pumpkins you see on TV or in the news are grown from seeds that have been specifically bred by giant pumpkin growers, and often times, the clubs that these growers belong to are more than happy to sell a few seeds to a new growers. While these growers use special techniques to grow the 1,000lb+ pumpkin, they often brag that their seeds will grow a pumpkin of at least a 100lb pumpkin without even trying.
I am not sure about what clubs are in the states you will be in, but here is the link to my local Giant Pumpkin club http://www.ovgpg.com/ [1]
They may be able to help you with either obtaining seeds or putting you in contact with a group in the areas you will be visiting.
Oh, and look at that. 🙂 They sell seeds: http://www.ovgpg.com/seedList2014.php [2]
