Getting rid of green skin on potatoes

Need tips for getting rid of green skin on potatoes when planting. We plant potatoes but when we harvest them, practically all of them have green on them. Is it our soil, or what are we doing wrong? Have planted potatoes for years, but lately when we plow them out they have green skin. HELP PLEASE!
