Q.getting morning glories to flower

Zone Raymond NH 03077 | Anonymous added on September 8, 2018 | Answered

I suspect my soil is too rich. There are buds but they are not opening and it is Sep 8th. The vines are gorgeous and yes, I did fertilize in my late May planting. I live in New Hampshire. Any chance they can still bloom OR anything I can do to help them?
thanks

Morning glories are highly invasive, and require little to no fertilization. Flush the soil out with lots of water. These wonderful flowers will bloom when they are ready, and are somewhat frost tolerant. Here is an article that will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/vines/morning-glory/morning-glory-not-blooming.htm
