Removing nitrogen can be done with a water flush, but I would be sure that this is the case. Test your soil, first:

If it shows too much nitrogen, then you can remove with a water flush, or by adding some phosphorus and potassium for an offset. Other ways can include planting things that use up lots of nitrogen, and wood chips. This article will help:
