Geranium flower head with leaf growing from it

Question

Ive been growing geraniums in my flower bed for few yrs and never came acorss a flower head with a leaf growimg from it (see pics) can any body tell me have they seen this before ?? And why has it happened thanks in advance

This can happen with plants, anomalies can often be found in plant life.
