Garrya Eliptica Growing Catkins In July.

Question

its my understanding the catkins should be from Mid Winter to March time? I assume its a Garrya as an Aspen will sport catkins during the summer?

My information says the bracts stay on the plant through summer. Aspens do produce catkins but your plant looks like a Garrya. Here is more:
