Garlic Storage

Question

I am going on holiday in 2 days time but I have only just harvested it. I have a glass fronted garden shed that gets very warm. Should I hang it in there? I haven’t got time to dry it then store it as I normally do. What shall I do? The shed has got a window. I also have a brick utility room – no sun, fairly cool.

I would suggest you lay it out flat on layers of newspaper to allow it to dry in your utility room. A cool and dry area works best for hardening off your garlic. You can bundle and hang it when you get back.
