Gardenia Bush Is Becoming Light Green

My gardenia bush seems to be growing ok but is becoming lighter and lighter green. The leaves used to be a nice dark green. Do I need to fertilize more, and what kind of fertilizer do you suggest?

It sounds like chlorosis, which is an iron deficiency, either caused by too little iron or too little nitrogen (which prevents iron uptake). Here is more information on that problem and how to fix it:
