Q.Gardenia Bush for Florida

Anonymous added on April 20, 2011 | Answered

I live in Sarasota, Florida (Zone 9-10). Some neighbors have beautiful gardenia bushes, 4-5 feet high and wide. Can you tell me which variety is best to buy and what growth rate can be expected?

Since you live in the south, basically any type of gardenia will thrive well in your area. These shrubs usually reach about 6 feet. Here is an article that you may find helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/gardenia/gardenia-plant.htm
