gardenias

We have lots of little white mounds on the stem of our gardenias. Is this a mealybug infestation? They are very sticky. Leaves are healthy (at the moment). Can you please help me with a solution? Sorry unable to send photo. Not tech savvy.

Mealybug are the likely culprit. They are very common on Gardenia plants.
Neem Oil is a good treatment for these insects.
