gardenia tree

I have a gardenia plant and since winter is here I brought it in. It is a plant that has a tall stem and then you have the leaves at the top. Since I have it inside, I saw that it has some white sticky things on the areas where the flowers bloom. I don’t know what that is and how to get rid of it. I don’t want the tree to die. Please help.

The plant has a pest, likely aphids or mealybugs. This is common for plants that move from outside to inside. Treat the plant with a pesticide, such as neem oil, and repeat after a few weeks. This should clear up the problem.
