Gardenia, Size of Root Ball

I am interested in planting some gardenias but want to know how far the root system will be expected to grow? Also, how wide does the plant grow and its approx. height?

These shrubs have a relatively shallow root system and as a result they are resentful of any disturbance, making transplanting somewhat tricky. Depending on the variety you choose, its overall height and width will vary with dwarf types ranging from 2-5 feet high and 3-4 feet wide. Others may be anywhere from 5-10+ feet tall with spreads between 4-6 feet or more.
