Q.Gardenia Plant

Anonymous added on March 17, 2014 | Answered

My new gardenia plant is drooping every evening. The entire plant is drooping, even though the soil is moist. It is very warm in my courtyard 75-80 daytime and mostly sunny. Is it too warm or too sunny for my gardenia plant to thrive?

It could be possible that it's getting too much sun, which may lead to the drooping. You may want to consider moving the shrub to a shadier location. This article can provide tips to help you with that: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/gardenia/transplanting-gardenia-plants-planting-gardenia-somewhere-new.htm Overly wet soil can also cause drooping. Check the drainage around your shrub and make changes as needed.
