Gardenia In Zone 7

Can you grow gardenia in zone 7, or is it too tropical for that climate?

I would review the klrim’s Hardy Gardenia and the Frost Proof Gardenia in your zone as that is quite close to their max winter hardiness (a select few cultivars can handle 6b).
