Gardenia flowers

I have a small gardenia bush. Recently it started to bloom only the first bloom came out big and nice, then all the others came out smaller in size. I wonder what’s missing? I’m fertilizing it as required. Could it be lack of that or too much of it?

Perhaps you could try giving it some additional phosphorus (either through a phosphorus-rich fertilizer or bone meal mixed in the soil). This nutrient is normally responsible for flowering and should encourage nice, healthy blooms.
