Gardenia First Flower

My 2 gardenia bushes get a few hours @2 hours of direct morning Sun daily plus plant light at night 8 hours. One plant produced its 1st flower which Was small this is a gardenia mystery. It looks like some more buds might be coming. Ive had them 5 years. Does one flower always follow with more and will the coming flowers be bigger? Fertilise how often? Germany

Congratulations! This means that you are doing something right. These are, notoriously, difficult to coax into flowering. Doing so means that you have provided the conditions that this picky plant likes! To ensure that the blooms continue, and get larger, you will want to feed it properly.
