Gardenia buds become yellow or rotten

Some of my gardenia buds start to become yellow from below as if they are rotten. They could be easily removed afterwards. What could be the reason for that? Other buds are doing well though.

It may be thrips. They can attack the base of flower buds, causing them to rot and fall off before they open. Here is more information:

no it isnt thrips i checked my plant is healthy and not all buds or flowers get this fate, some of them r flowering normally just some of them die when they r small they become yellow from the base then black and dry.
