Garden placement

Question

I am writing for advice on where to place my first raised bed. My yard has a unique setup situated between 2 farms where I experience a strong west to east wind when it storms. I was interested in placing a raised bed directly on the back of my west facing shed to shield the plants from the wind. The problem this poses is with sunlight. I would like to place it directly to make it easier to mow the grass and to lose less lawn space. I have attached the plan to this message with the left side of the layout being the back edge of the shed. The plants are arranged from shortest in the east to tallest in the west. The plants on the far left row would be suspended by a heavy duty Hog Wire trellis. If you look at the border of the attached image on the right side #12 is east and #8 on the left side would be west. I know this is not ideal, but I wanted to see if I could make it work. This would likely work- I have a garden on the east side of my house that gets lots of light- but the determining factor is going to be how many hours of sunlight each part of the garden gets each day. In some situations, the north part of your garden might get significantly less light than the south part.

Check your intended garden area at different times of the day to determine how much sun it gets. Less than six hours of sun will give most vegetable plants trouble, but leafy greens may still do well.

Arranging the plants from the tallest against the wall to shortest is a good idea and will definitely help.
