Q.Fuschia (Display) – No Buds

Zone B92 | ishyam79 added on March 13, 2020 | Answered

I have these Fuchsias (Display),4 of them and I use the right potting compost and give them fertiliser every 2 weeks. I do not see any buds appearing. Is it too early to expect new leaves (Mid-march) from the Fuchsia or is there something else that is going wrong. Really appreciate any help.

I am not familiar with your zone, but since your fuchsia lost its leaves, I'm hoping you have a hardy variety.

It needs 12 weeks of dormancy, so you may be a trifle soon. But if you experience frosts in your area and these plants are not hardy, you may have lost them. You can check by scraping off some of the bark on the stem and if it's green, it's still alive. If it's whitish or light tan, it has succombed.

They like light, but not too much sun, and a cooler area, especially as summer wears on.
