Q.Fungus Gnats

Zone 7a | co692op added on November 16, 2020 | Answered

This year I have an abundance of fungus gnats on my indoor plants and after they hatch they fly all through the house and it is quite annoying. Is there a remedy for this. I do not want to use pesticides.

Fungus gnats may be a sign that you are overwatering. there are several easy remedies. One is to hang a yellow sticky tape trap near the plants. Another is to put 1/4 of a mosquito dunk into your watering can. A layer of sand on top of the soil may discourage adults from entering the soil to lay eggs.
