fruit on fig tree needs help

White fig tree fruit looks beautiful but no flesh or pulp inside, only the shell. Why? Planted in ground, in hot weather water every day, 3 years old. Lush green growth. Lots of figs on tree. Figs grow to a large size but are like a dried sponge inside. I live in CA in the Merced area.

Dried fruit on the tree is normally cause by disease, which is introduced by the Dried Fruit Beetle. They crawl up into the fruit and bring disease. They can overwinter in the ground, which is why you have had this problem for many years.
