Frost Proof, Frost Danger

What do the terms frost proof and frost danger mean? I know they refer to dates, but am unsure if one is the average last day of frost or perhaps the record last day of frost.

Past danger of frost would refer to the last day frost is likely to happen. It does not necessarily mean the very last day there was ever frost, but should be a week or two past your last average frost date. There is no hard and fast rule regarding it. Frost proof refers to plants that can withstand a light frost.
